Second Cuts:
Color A (Dark Brown): Cut all 2-7/8" squares, 4-7/8" squares, and 12-7/8" squares once diagonally.

Color B ( Tan): Cut all 2-7/8" squares and all 4-7/8" squares once diagonally.

Color C (Gold): Cut all 2-7/8" squares once diagonally.

Color D (Cream): Cut all 4-7/8" squares once diagonally.

Cut all 5-1/4" squares and the 13-1/4" square twice diagonally.

Color E (Red): Cut all 5-1/4" and the 13-1/4" square twice diagonally.

Color F (Dk. Green): Cut all 4-7/8" squares once diagonally.

Sewing Instructions:
Step 1: With right sides together, layer a Color B (Tan) 4-7/8" triangle on a Color A (Dk. Brown) 4-7/8" triangle. Sew together along the longest side. Press the seam allowance toward the darker fabric and trim the points. Make 20.

Step 2: With right sides together, layer a Color D (Cream) 4-7/8" triangle on a Color F (Dk. Green) triangle. Sew together along the longest side. Press the seam allowance toward the darker fabric and trim the points. Make 20.

Step 3: With right sides together, stitch a Color D (Cream) 5-1/4" triangle and a Color E (Red) 5-1/4" triangle together along a short side. Press seam allowance toward darker fabric and trim point. Make 20.

Step 4: With right sides together, stitch a Step 3 D/E triangle to a Color A (Dk. Brown) 4-7/8" triangle together along the longest side. Press the seam allowance toward the Color A (Dk. Brown) fabric and trim points. Make 20.

Step 5: Arrange four Step 2 units, four Step 4 units and one Color C (Gold) 4-1/2" square as shown below. Sew together, first in rows, then sew rows together to finish the Starshine Block. Make 5.

Step 6: With right sides together, stitch a Color D (Cream) 13-1/4" triangle and a Color E (Red) 13-1/4" triangle together along a short side. Press seam allowance toward darker fabric and trim point. Make 4.

Step 7: With right sides together, stitch a Step 6 D/E triangle to a Color A (Dk. Brown) 12-7/8" triangle together along the longest side. Press the seam allowance toward the Color A (Dk. Brown) fabric and trim points. Make 4.

Step 8: Arrange the Step 5 and Step 7 blocks as shown below. Sew the blocks together to form rows then sew rows together to finish the quilt center.



Step 9: Sew a Step 1 unit to each side of a Color A (Dk. Brown) 4-1/2" x 36-1/2" strip. Press seam allowance away from the Step 1 units. Make 2.

Step 10: Sew a Color A (Dk. Brown) 4-1/2" x 36-1/2" strip to the left and right sides of the quilt center. Press the seam allowance away from the quilt center.

Step 11: Sew a Step 9 unit to the top and bottom of the quilt center. Press the seam allowance away from the quilt center.

Step 12: With right sides together, layer a Color B (Tan) 2-7/8" triangle on a Color A (Dk. Brown) 2-7/8" triangle. Sew together along the longest side. Press the seam allowance toward the darker fabric and trim the points. Make 16.

Step 13: With right sides together, layer a Color C (Gold) 2-7/8" triangle on a Color A (Dk. Brown) 2-7/8" triangle. Sew together along the longest side. Press the seam allowance toward the darker fabric and trim the points. Make 16.

Step 14: Arrange four Step 12 units, four Step 13 units, and a Color C (Gold) 2-1/2" square as shown below. Sew together, first in rows, then sew rows together to complete the corner block. Press seam allowances toward the center row. Make 4.

Step 15: With right sides together, sew a Color A (Dk. Brown) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" strip to Color A (Dk. Brown) 2-1/2" x 40-1/2" strip along one short side. Press seam allowance to one side. Make 4.

Step 16: With right sides together, sew a Color B (Tan) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" strip to Color B (Tan) 2-1/2" x 40-1/2" strip along one short side. Press seam allowance to one side. Make 8.

Step 17: With right sides together, sew a Color B (Tan) Step 16 strip to each long side of a Color A (Dk. Brown) Step 15 strip. Press seam allowance away from the Color A Fabric. Make 4.

Step 18: Sew a Step 14 unit to each end of a Step 17 strip. Press the seam allowance away from the Step 14 units. Make 2.

Step 19: Sew a Step 17 strip to the left and right sides of the quilt center. Press the seam allowance toward the Step 17 strip.

Step 20: Sew a Step 18 strip to the top and bottom of the quilt center. Press the seam allowance away from the Step 18 strip.

Step 21: Quilt and bind as desired. There will be seven 2-1/2" strips left over to use as binding strips.
