Sewing Instructions:

Step 1:  Using a ruler and a rotary cutter, cut each 5-1/4" square twice diagonally.

Step 2:  Using a ruler and a rotary cutter, cut each 4-7/8" square once diagonally

Step 3:   Stitch a Color A (dk. blue) Step 2 triangle to a Color D (yellow)Step 2 triangle, as shown below.  Press seam toward the darker fabric and trim points.  Repeat three more times for a total of four Color A/D half-square triangles.  (This unit should measure 4-1/2".)

Step 4: Stitch a Color A (dk. blue) Step 1 triangle to a Color C (green) Step 1 triangle, as shown below.  Press seam allowance toward the Color C triangle and trim point.  Make 4.

Step 5:  Stitch a Color A (dk. blue) Step 1 triangle to a Color C (green) Step 1 triangle, as shown below.  Press seam allowance toward the Color C triangle and trim point.  Make 4.

Step 6:  Stitch a Color E (cream) Step 1 triangle to a Color B (red) Step 1 triangle, as shown below.  Press seam allowance toward the Color B triangle and trim point.  Make 4.

Step 7:  Stitch a Color E (cream) Step 1 triangle to a Color B (red) Step 1 triangle, as shown below.  Press seam allowance toward the Color B triangle and trim point.  Make 4.

Step 8:  Stitch a Step 6 triangle to a Step 5 triangle as shown below.  Press seam allowance in one direction and trim points.  Make 4.  (This unit should measure 4-1/2".)

Step 9:  Stitch a Step 7 triangle to a Step 4 triangle as shown below.  Press seam allowance in one direction and trim points.  Make 4.  (This unit should measure 4-1/2".)

Step 10:  Following the diagram below, arrange the block units as shown below.  Sew into rows.  Sew rows together to finish the block.

Your block should measure 16-1/2" at this point.  It will measure 16" when it is sewn into the quilt.
