Sewing Instructions:
Step 1:
Using a ruler and a rotary cutter, cut two Color E (cream) 6-7/8"
squares, four Color E (cream) 2-7/8"
squares, one Color D (yellow) 2-7/8"
square, one Color C (green) 2-7/8"
square, and four Color A (dk blue) 2-7/8"
squares once diagonally.

Step 2:
Using a ruler and a rotary cutter, cut one Color D (yellow) 5-1/4"
square and one Color C (green) 5-1/4"
square twice diagonally.

Step 3:
With right sides together, layer a Color D (yellow) Step 2 triangle on
a Color C (green) Step 2 triangle.
Stitch together using a 1/4"
seam. Press the seam allowance
toward the darker fabric and trim points.
Repeat three more times for a
total of four Color C/D half-square
triangles.

Next,
layer a Color E (cream) Step 1 triangle
(smallest size) on a Color A (dk
blue) Step 1 triangle. Stitch
together using a 1/4" seam.
Press the seam allowance toward
the darker fabric and trim points.
Repeat seven more times for
a total of eight Color A/E half-square
triangles.

Step 4: With right sides together, layer a Color D (yellow) Step 1 triangle on
a Color C (green) Step 1 triangle.
Stitch together using a 1/4"
seam. Press the seam allowance
toward the darker fabric and trim point.
Repeat once more for a
total of two Color C/D quarter-square
triangles units.

Step 5: With right sides together
and using a 1/4" seam allowance,
sew the two Step 4 triangles
together as shown below. Press
seam allowance to one side and trim
points. One quarter square triangle made.

Step 6: Following
the diagram below, arrange the block units as shown below.
Sew into rows and press seam allowances toward the center
on the top and bottom row and away from the center on the center
row. Sew rows together to finish the center block and
press the seam allowances away from the center row.

Step
7:
With right sides together, sew
a Color E (cream) Step 1 triangle (larger
size) to
the left and right sides of the center
unit as shown below. Press
seam allowances toward the Step 1 triangles
and trim points.

Step
9: Next, sew a Color
E (cream) Step 1 triangle (larger size) to the top
and bottom of the center unit as shown below.
Press seam allowances toward the Step
1 triangles and trim points.

Step
10: Arrange two Color A/E
Step 3 triangles and a Color B 2-1/2"
x 8-1/2" rectangle as shown
below. Stitch together using
a 1/4" seam allowance and press
the seams away from the half-square
triangle units. Repeat three
more times for a total of four.

Next,
stitch a 2-1/2" Color E square
to the left and right sides of a
strip that you made above. Press
the seam allowance away from the
half-square triangle units. Repeat
once more for a total of two.

Step
11: Sew the shorter Step 10
units to the left and right side
of the block. Press the seams
away from the center block. Sew
the longer Step 10 units to the
top and bottom of the block. Press
the seams away from the center block.

Your block should
measure 16-1/2" at this point. It will measure 16" when it is sewn into the
quilt.
