Sewing Instructions:
Step 1:
Using a ruler and a rotary cutter, cut each Color A (dk blue) 4-7/8" square once diagonally.
Step 2:
Using a ruler and a rotary cutter, cut each 5-1/4" square twice diagonally.
Step 3:
Stitch
a Color A (dk blue) Step 1 triangle
to the left and right sides of the Color E (cream) 6-1/8" square,
as shown below. Press seam
allowance toward the Color A triangles
and trim points. Next, stitch a Color A (dk blue) Step 1 triangle to the top and bottom of the Color E (cream) 6-1/8" square, as shown below. Press seam allowance toward the Color A triangles and trim points.

Step 4: Stitch
a Color C (green) Step 2 triangle
to a Color A (dk blue) Step 2 triangle, right sides together,
as shown below. Press seam
allowance toward the Color A triangle
and trim points. Make 4.

Step 5:
Stitch two Color D (yellow) Step 2 triangles to a Step 4 half-square triangle, as shown below. Press seam allowance toward the Color D triangles and trim points. Make 4.

Step 6: Stitch
a Color B (red) Step 2 triangle
to a Color E (cream) Step 2 triangle,
as shown below. Press seam
allowance toward the Color E triangle
and trim points. Make 4.

Step 7: Stitch a Color E (cream) Step 2 triangle to a Color B (red) Step 2 triangle, as shown below. Press seam allowance toward the Color E triangle and trim points. Make 4.

Step 8: Stitch a Step 6 triangle to the left side of a Step 5 unit, as shown below. Press seam allowance toward the Step 6 triangle and trim points. Next, stitch a Step 7 triangle to the right side of the same Step 5 unit, as shown below. Press seam allowance toward the Step 7 triangle and trim points. Make 4.

Step 9: Arrange the pieced units and Color E (cream) 4-1/2" squares, as shown below. Sew first into rows, pressing seam allowances in away from the center unit for the top and bottom row and toward from the center for the center row.
Next, sew rows together to complete the block. Press seam allowances toward from the center.

Your block should
measure 16-1/2" at this point. It will measure 16" when it is sewn into the
quilt.
