Cutting Instructions (for all four

Sewing Instructions:
Step 1:
Using a ruler and a water soluble marker, draw a diagonal line on the wrong
side of all Fabric 6 (cream) 2-7/8" squares.
Step 2:
With right sides together, layer a Fabric 6 (cream) 2-7/8" square on a Fabric 3
(red) 2-7/8" square and sew a 1/4" seam on each side of the diagonal line that
you drew in Step 1. Repeat seven times more and cut apart on the diagonal
lines. Press seams to darker fabric and trim points. Sixteen Fabric 6/Fabric
3 half-square triangles made.
Step 3: Using the block above as your
guide, place the half-square triangle units and squares in order for each block.
Using a scant 1/4" seam, sew the units together to form rows and sew the rows
together to finish the block. Make 4 blocks.
Assembling the April -June Blocks and
Borders:
Step 1: Cut sixteen 6-1/2" squares from Fabric 4 (gold).
Step 2: Stitch blocks & Fabric 4 (gold)
squares into rows as shown below:

Step 3: Stitch the shorter (7
block) units to the left and right sides of the Center Medallion section as
shown below.

Step 4: Stitch the longer (9
block) units to the top and bottom as shown below:

Step 5: Cut eight 5" x 27-1/2"
strips from Fabric 5 (plaid). Cut four 5" squares from Fabric 3
(red).
Step 6: With right sides
together sew two 5" x 27-1/2" fabric 5 (plaid) strips together along one short
side. Press seam open. Repeat three more times for a total of four 5" x
54-1/2" Fabric 5 (plaid) strips.
Step 7: Sew a Fabric 3 (red) 5"
square to each end of a 5" x 54-1/2" Fabric 5 (plaid) strip. Press seams toward
the darker fabric. Repeat once more for a total of two border/corner square
strips.

Step 8: Stitch a 5" x 54-1/2"
Fabric 5 (plaid) strip to the left side of the quilt. Repeat on the right side
of the quilt.

Step 9: Stitch a border/Corner
square strip (that you made in Step 7) to the top and bottom of the
quilt.


You now have a 63" x 63" Lap Quilt.
