You can paper-piece the block or you can use templates. The instructions on

Sewing Instructions:
Before you start, print out a copy of the templates. Click here for the templates in .pdf format.
Place a sheet of clear template plastic over the printed templates and trace
the templates onto the plastic. Cut templates from
the plastic and label.
Step 1: With right sides together, layer a Fabric 1-A (dk green) on
a Fabric 6-A (cream). Using a scant 1/4” seam, stitch
along the longest side. Press seam toward the darker
fabric.
Step 2: With right sides together, layer a Fabric 1-B (dk green) on the Fabric 6-A (cream). Using a scant 1/4” seam, stitch along the longest
side.
Press seam toward the darker fabric.
Step 3: With right sides together, layer a Fabric 3-B (red) on the
Fab. 1-A (dk green). Using a scant 1/4” seam, stitch
along the longest side. Press seam toward the darker
fabric.
Step 4: Repeat Step1 through Step 3 fifteen times more for a total
of sixteen Diagonal Stripe blocks.
