2003 Block of the Month Borders

Borders:

Step 1:  With right sides together, sew two yellow 2-1/2" x 32" strips together along a short side to form a 2-1/2" x 63-1/2" strip.  Repeat once more for a total of two 2-1/2" x 63-1/2" yellow strips.

Step 2:  With right sides together, sew two yellow 2-1/2" x 26-1/2" strips together along a short side to form a 2-1/2" x 52-1/2" strip.  Repeat once more for a total of two 2-1/2" x 52-1/2" yellow strips.

Step 3:  With right sides together, sew two dark blue 5-1/2" x 34-1/2" strips together along a short side to form a 5-1/2" x 67-1/2" strip.  Repeat once more for a total of two 5-1/2" x 67-1/2" dark blue strips.

Step 4:  With right sides together, sew two dark blue 5-1/2" x 31-1/2" strips together along a short side to form a 5-1/2" x 62-1/2" strip.  Repeat once more for a total of two 5-1/2" x 62-1/2" dark blue strips.

Step 5:  Using Diagram 4 as your guide, sew the shorter yellow strips to the sides of the inner quilt.  Sew the longer yellow strips to the top and bottom.

Step 6:  Using Diagram 4 as your guide, sew the shorter dark blue strips to the left and right sides of the yellow border.  Sew the longer dark blue strips to the top and bottom.

Quilt and bind as desired.
