I’ve been working on some ideas to help me streamline the pattern-writing process. The first one that I’m rolling out is an online tool that will calculate the number of strips needed in order to cut a certain number of squares. The calculations are based on your answers to three questions. You can even print the results!

You’ll find it here:

Rotary Cut Squares Calculator

UPDATE:

I’ve created two more calculators and have created a new page for them. Check out the Calculators for Quilters page for all three calculators!

Hooray! Another website has been found that puts pretty color schemes together for us! It is a located at a lovely address on the web called ColorCombos.com!

On the front page, you’ll find the latest color schemes and a group of random schemes. They also feature color “tags” that you can click on to discover schemes that match the color! Check it out and be inspired to mix up colors in a way you’ve never done before!

While I was surfing around this morning, I found a great collection of quilt patterns offered by Red Rooster Fabrics!

You can view their “Quilt Library” here.

Lots of yummy designs to keep you busy for a long time!

There are several block of the month quilts going on around the internet right now. Here are some of the ones that I’ve found:

There are lots more out there…I’ll update this list as I find them. :)

For 2008, I plan to offer a new and improved version of the Block Central blog to allow those of you who are interested see what is going on between newsletters.  I’ll be working on customizing the design so that it more closely matches the website.  Feel free to comment or give feedback. :)
